Are you a Black woman seeking a safe, supportive space where you can explore your emotional well-being, reclaim your power, and heal from the unique challenges you face? This therapy group is designed specifically for you. I understand the intersection of race, gender, culture, and mental health and are here to help you navigate the complexities of being a Black woman in today’s world.

This 8-week closed group offers a healing space where you can explore your identity, connect with other Black women, and gain practical tools to build resilience, self-love, and emotional wellness. Whether you’re navigating personal challenges, societal pressures, or the ongoing impacts of generational trauma, this group is designed to support you on your journey toward wholeness.

Why This Group?

  • Culturally Affirming: As a Black woman, you face unique mental health challenges and societal pressures that others may not fully understand. This group recognizes the importance of culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care. We will explore how your identity as a Black woman impacts your mental health and provide strategies for healing and empowerment.

  • Safe and Supportive Community: The group provides a welcoming and confidential environment where you can share, listen, and grow together. It’s a space where vulnerability is met with compassion, and where you’ll find strength in solidarity with other Black women.

  • Empowerment through Self-Care and Healing: We believe that healing is an act of resistance. This group will help you reclaim your peace, strength, and authenticity. Together, we will practice self-care, build resilience, and support one another in embracing our true selves without shame or apology.

What You'll Gain:

  • Understanding of Your Unique Experience: Through in-depth conversations and therapeutic exercises, you’ll deepen your understanding of how race, gender, and culture intersect in your life and impact your mental health.

  • Practical Tools for Healing: You will learn practical tools for managing stress, setting healthy boundaries, overcoming negative thought patterns, and navigating life’s challenges with emotional resilience.

  • A Stronger Connection with Yourself and Others: You’ll have the chance to connect with like-minded Black women, share experiences, and develop long-lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect.

  • Increased Self-Awareness and Confidence: By engaging in reflection and self-discovery, you’ll gain clarity on your values, boundaries, and personal goals. You’ll leave this group feeling more confident in your ability to advocate for your own well-being.

What We’ll Focus On:

  • Building Trust and Connection: Learn how to foster authentic, meaningful relationships within the group while building a strong sense of community and safety.

  • Understanding Your Identity: Explore how your identity as a Black woman shapes your experiences and mental health. Discuss societal pressures, stereotypes, and how to honor your unique identity.

  • Healing from Trauma: Discuss the impacts of generational trauma, racial trauma, and personal challenges, and discover trauma-informed tools to support your healing process.

  • Embracing Your Authenticity: Challenge societal standards of beauty and success, and embrace your true self, free from shame or comparison. Learn to celebrate your own worth and strength.

  • Creating Empowering Relationships: Focus on the importance of healthy boundaries and supportive relationships. Learn how to set limits and cultivate connections that nourish your mental and emotional health.

  • Celebrating Growth: Reflect on your personal growth over the course of the group and set meaningful intentions for moving forward with confidence and purpose.

  • This group is weekly and will happen every Monday via Zoom. The exact dates are to be determined.

  • Each session will be 90 minutes long.

  • Online! You will receive a Zoom link in your welcome email.

  • There will be up to 8 women in the group.

  • ABSOLUTELY! All members of group will sign a contract agreeing to uphold confidentiality at all times. Also, this is a closed group, meaning that new members are not able to join at any time.

  • The cost is $20 per session with a 8 week commitment.
